Recorded on Concert in the Garden, "Pas de Deux" is the Ravel inspired middle movement of "Three Romances" that was commissioned by the University of Miami. I was in love with the ballerina, Sylvie Guillem, and pas de deux dances in particular, where there is complete support between dance partners. I wanted that same feeling between soloists, where they play with one another, and into one another, rather than for themselves.
