Recorded on The Thompson Fields, "Home" features Rich Perry on tenor sax. With its chorale style writing that's heavy on the low brass, this piece evokes the wide open landscape of my home, the Midwest (specifically the southwest Minnesota prairie landscape). Besides the low brass chorale writing, the piece prominently features the tenor saxophone, or more specifically, Rich Perry, throughout almost the entire work. I've included a streamed video of Rich discussing his performance of this piece, as well as a video of me discussing some of what went into writing it. This is one of my favorite cuts on our album The Thompson Fields, and I hope you'll enjoy looking at the score.
