Solos are in tenor 2 part and piano. If you have accordion, the entire piece can alternatively feature accordion instead of tenor.
Regular 5, 4, 4, piano, bass, guitar and drums. Percussion (pandeiro, is nice if available). Optional accordion part is included.
Recorded on Concert in the Garden, "Choro Dançado" was originally commissioned by the University of Miami. "Choro Dançado" is the first part of "Three Romances," but I most often perform it as a stand-alone piece. You will want to be sure that you have an alto player that is a pretty good flute player, and one that's a pretty good clarinet player. These parts aren't for those who dabble in doubling. I've guest-conducted at some schools where they'll bring in a classical player – so that's always possible. Solos are in the tenor and the piano, but we also let our accordion player, Gary Versace, alternatively cut loose on this as an accordion feature. Your soloist will benefit from the MP3 track we've included that is mixed without Rich Perry's tenor solo, for your soloist's practice. Interviews with musicians, along with a video where I discuss rehearsal of the piece are all tools you'll find along with your score & parts.
