Description

Recorded on Concert in the Garden, "Three Romances" is a three-movement suite that was commissioned by the University of Miami. 1. "Choro Dançado," is loosely derived from Brazilian choro and displays a lot of counterpoint as it moves through many key areas. 2. "Pas de Deux," depicts two dancers via solos that intermingle and support one another, rather than compete. 3. "Dança Ilusória," almost conjures up the feeling of Brazilian bossa nova in terms of the harmonic movement – but the rhythmic feel is definitely a two-beat foxtrot.

All content available in the single score offers, is included in this "Three Romances" offer, but at a reduced price: downloadable scores, videos where I talk about the writing, written analysis, old sketches, and videos of the musicians that bring this work to life – hopefully all of it will make these scores more meaningful.

Rather large portions of this score are also available with all three levels of composer participation: Composer, Composer ‘Plus’ and Composer ‘Plus Plus’.
