Recorded on Allégresse as the title track, this was originally written for the Metropole Orchestra (full studio orchestra), and then I re-wrote it for my band, and that's the score you'll receive here. "Allégresse" has some unique sonorities and a kind-of 'slinky' harmonic movement that appears in a few of my pieces in that period. It has open pedal vamp solo sections, intricate reed lines, and trading solos at the end of the piece. With this purchase you'll get access to a streamed video where I discuss the harmony and thought process behind this piece. You'll gain a little insight into the performance of this piece from listening to Frank Kimbrough and Ingrid Jensen speak via streamed audio.
